eLeapPower Joins Canada's Semiconductor Council
Toronto-based EV technology company brings power electronics expertise to Canada's national semiconductor industry voice
Ottawa, Ontario | June 23, 2026
Canada's Semiconductor Council (CSC) today welcomed eLeapPower as its newest member. The Toronto-based company develops and produces integrated power electronics products that help vehicle manufacturers reduce the cost, weight, size and complexity of electric powertrains. The company’s patented solutions combine driving, charging and power management functions into compact, modular solutions for electric mobility platforms ranging from 48V to 800V and beyond.
As electric mobility expands across global markets, semiconductor-enabled power electronics are becoming central to vehicle performance, efficiency, reliability and affordability. eLeapPower’s technology directly addresses this challenge by enabling higher levels of integration in the electric powertrain, supporting applications across motorcycles, low-speed vehicles, light commercial vehicles, and industrial equipment.
“The global transition to electric mobility is creating a major opportunity for countries with strong semiconductor, power electronics and advanced manufacturing capabilities. Cost and complexity remain barriers to adoption, and that is the problem eLeapPower is working to solve. These same technologies also have important dual-use relevance, from commercial electrification to defence mobility, Arctic operations, and energy resilience. A strong policy environment will be essential to ensuring Canadian companies can scale these technologies and help shape the future EV supply chains,” said Jonathan Dooley, Director of Product, eLeapPower.
As a CSC member, eLeapPower will bring a power electronics and EV manufacturing perspective to the working groups and policy discussions that shape how Canada competes in the global clean technology supply chain.
"The semiconductor content in an electric vehicle goes well beyond the chip — it runs through the entire powertrain. eLeapPower understands that value chain deeply, and that expertise is exactly what our policy work needs," said Paul Slaby, Managing Director, Canada's Semiconductor Council
